Improving Email Deliverability
Notification Frequency
By default,
participants have the ability to set their own email notification frequency. This can impact when, if at all, they receive digest emails from the platform. If you have a set schedule you would like notifications to follow, it may be a good idea to limit participants ability to adjust their own notification schedule.
Before hiding these options from participants, you'll want to make sure to reset the notification settings for all panelists to ensure that their current notification schedule will now match the default you have set-up. To do this, navigate to
Site Administration>Site Setup>Email Notifications, enable the
Reset settings for panelists to the defaults above toggle, and select
Apply Settings at the bottom of the page.
Once you have reset their notification settings, enable Hide options from participants and select all of the options in the drop-down menu. Don't forget to select Apply Settings at the bottom of the page to save your changes.
Email Invitation Issues
If you are
Bulk Importing your participants, we recommend setting a temporary password for them in case they experience any issues receiving the email invitations. This can be done by including a
Password column within your bulk import and assigning the same password to every participant.
In the event that a participant doesn't receive the email invitation, you can provide them with the following credentials that will allow them to log in and set a new password:
- URL: The URL for your site
- Username: The participants email address
- Password: The temporary password you have set
Investigating Email Deliverability Issues
You can review a participants
Edit Panelist page when investigating email deliverability issues to determine whether they have received a specific email notification.
At the bottom of the participant's edit panelist page, you can see every email that has been sent to that participant from the platform, as well as whether it was read or not. If you notice a participant with a significant amount of unread emails, it may be a good idea to reach out to the Recollective support team at
Helpdesk@recollective.com.
