Notifications vs. Messages

The difference between Notifications and Messages is a common question. A message is a private conversation between the participant and the Study moderators. A notification is an alert that an event the user should be aware of has occurred.

Both Messages and Notifications have their own dedicated icons in the site's page header as shown below:

If you have new messages or notifications, the icon will be accompanied with a red dot ( • ) and count. You can click into the icon to see the respective feed and then click on the desired message or notification to be taken its relevant area in the Study.
