How to Configure Automatic Translations

The Automatic Translations feature provides researchers with real-time translations for participant responses, exportable translated data, and automatic translation of study configurations.

Automatic Translations are enabled by default for all multilingual studies. Analysts can define multi-language options to trigger Automatic Translations during study creation.

To configure Automatic Translations for a Study, follow these steps:

  1. Create a New Study.
  2. Use the Study Languages dropdown to select the language(s) you want to translate study content to, which will only be visible to Admins (Analysts, Moderators, and Clients).
  3. Use the subsequent Participant Languages dropdown to select the Study Languages that should be visible to participants.
    • Note: The Participant Languages menu will only become available if more than one Study Language has been selected.
  4. Complete study creation by clicking Next.

By default, a maximum of three Study Languages can be selected, however, Admins can contact Support to override this limit.

Note: When copying a study for multi-market projects, the original Study Language(s) will remain enabled and cannot be deselected; however, the study-specific Participant Language(s) can be modified. If the configured Study Languages must be modified after study creation, Admins can contact Support for assistance.

How to set your export language:

Automatic Translations allow researchers to export translated study data in their preferred language. To access this feature, a study must already have multiple languages configured.

To set your export data in another language, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Language Preferences icon in the bottom-left corner of the interface.
  2. Using the Export Language dropdown menu, select your desired language for export.
  3. Toggle on Translated responses if you would like to include translated content such as participant responses, discussion replies and task comments.
  4. Export your Study Response Data in the format of your choosing.
