Who can skip participants over a Task?
Analysts or Moderators can help skip a participant over a task who may be struggling with that specific response, without having to make the Task optional for all other participants in the Study.
Steps to Skip a Task
Go to the specific Activity that contains the Task the participant should be skipped over
Scroll down to the Response Summary section
Locate the participant in the list and click View next to their name
Click the Task Name dropdown list and select the desired Task
Click the Options button
Select Edit Task Response
From the draft entry page, click Skip at the bottom of the page
In the Skip Task window, leave the default selection as Skipped by moderator
Click Skip Task to finalize the procedure
Once the above steps have been completed the Task is marked as skipped for that specific participant, allowing them to proceed onto their next available Task.
How to Allow a Participant to Re-attempt a Skipped Task
If a participant would like to attempt a Task that they were previously skipped over at a later date, an Analyst or Moderator must reject the skipped response entry to reopen it:
Locate the participant's skipped response using steps 1-5 from above
Select Reject Task Response
In the modal that appears, Click Reject Task Response
Optional: You may provide the reason for the task rejection
Expected Outcome: Rejecting the skipped entry clears the skipped status, enabling the participant to access and submit a response for that specific Task again.
