Ask AI: MultiProject Mode
With MultiProject Mode, fragmented project archives can be transformed into a continuous, reusable stream of insights to deepen the impact of past projects, without leaving the platform.

Using Ask AI: MultiProject Mode
MultiProject Mode is available to researchers who have multiple studies on their Recollective site. From the site Dashboard, or within a particular study space, Analysts and Moderators will see a purple tab on the right-hand side of the page labelled Ask AI.
Once participant responses have been received, Admins can open the tab and utilize the Studies filter to select specific studies, activities or tasks to ask questions against. Users can also apply Segment filters to further narrow their scope.

Tip: As a best practice, use the Study and Segment Filters whenever applicable to improve response accuracy.
Asking Questions in MultiProject Mode
When engaging MultiProject Mode, there are a few considerations to keep in mind:
- Filter for Comparison: Filter on 5 or fewer studies to highlight similarities and differences between datasets.
- Be Specific: As Participant filters and @mentions will be disabled, use the Study and Segment Filters whenever applicable to improve response accuracy.
- Focus on Trends and Patterns: Ask about recurring topics, key differences, or common findings across studies rather than changes over time or participant profile breakdowns.
Examples of Good MultiProject Questions:
- Did perceptions of safety and security differ between the Europe study and the North American study?
- What features were consistently praised or criticized across the Beverage studies?
- Across all regions, which branded content led to positive brand association?
- List all mentions of sustainability-related concerns.
Examples of Questions to Avoid:
- Time-based questions:
- How have attitudes towards “X” in the UK & US studies changed over time?
- Questions about activity/task setup and metadata:
- Which activities/tasks showed the highest completion rates in education studies?
- Questions about participant profile data:
- How did youths respond to influencer campaigns vs. adults?
- What types of marketing claims generated the most skepticism across segments?

Frequently Asked Questions
- Is there a maximum number of studies I can ask comparative questions against?
Yes. MultiProject Mode is best utilized when filtering on 5 or fewer studies, as this will allow Ask AI to generate answers that compare and highlight similarities and differences across the selected datasets.
If a question is asked across more than 5 studies, Ask AI will default to a non-comparative response, focusing on general answers that draw from all included data, without explicit comparisons.
- Can Ask AI answer comparative questions based on specific metadata or activity and task setup?
MultiProject comparisons will be made at the study-level. Ask AI cannot answer questions based on specific metadata such as task setup, participant profile data, and dates.
