How to Remove Personally Identifiable Information for a Single Panelist

In order to preserve anonymity or adhere to certain privacy stipulations (e.g. GDPR), you may wish to remove any personally identifiable information (PII) from a panelist's account. When PII is removed, the panelist's response data will be preserved in any studies they participated in and will be linked to an anonymous account. Only an Analyst can remove PII for an account.

To remove PII for a single panelist, follow these steps:

📍 Go to Site Administration > Panelists
  1. Select the Panelist pane
  2. Once you have located the panelist in the list, click the drop-down arrow next to their name and select Edit
  3. Click Options then select Remove Personal Data
  4. Check the desired data fields to be removed and click Remove Selected Data
Once you have completed these steps, you will have successfully scheduled a personal data for the panelist's account. The data will be permanently deleted within a few hours.
Caution: If you need to cancel the PII removal, you can do so from the panelist's edit page by selecting Cancel Removal. Not that this must be done within an hour of initiating the Data Removal.
