While Recollective AI provides artificial intelligence tools for research, site-wide generative features can be disabled to meet specific security needs or preferences. Disabling Generative AI deactivates these features across the entire site for all studies.
Required Permissions: Only Analysts can disable Recollective AI features.
Important Limitation: Once Generative AI is disabled on a site, Analysts cannot re-enable it without contacting the Recollective support team.
Scope of Generative AI features
When Generative AI is disabled, artificial intelligence capabilities that produce new content are deactivated site-wide. Affected features include:
Summaries
Insights
AI-moderated conversations
Note: Disabling Generative AI does not affect non-generative tools such as automated transcription or translation, which transform existing data rather than generating new content.
How to disable Generative AI features
To manually opt out of Generative AI features at the site level, follow these steps:
Log in as a Site Analyst and navigate to Site Administration > Settings.
Click Recollective AI.
In the modal that appears, toggle off Generative AI Features.
Click Disable to confirm the change.
Expected outcome: Generative AI features are immediately deactivated site-wide across all studies. Features related to Recollective AI become inaccessible to all users on the site.
